ADVANCEMENTS IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING: A REVIEW OF 3D PRINTING PROCESSES
Abstract
This study aimed to review the transformative technology in pharmaceutical sciences. Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is a process of making 3-dimensional objects from a digital file. Charles Hull, who is considered the inventor of 3D printing. This review explores key 3D printing technologies used in pharmaceutical applications, facilitating strategies for drug development, transforming conventional drug development particles, inaugurating new methods for pharmaceutical formulations, and paving the path to creative drug formation techniques and tailored therapy. In this review, we will explore the history of 3D printing and provide an overview of its working principles. The following section
discusses the evolution of 3D printing technology, and also operational mechanisms of 3D printing will be presented.
Keywords: Three-dimensional printing technology, three dimensional printed drug, drug de- livery, Stereolithography, additive manufacturing in pharmaceutics, Fused Deposition Modeling, Nano-capsule.
