Antibiotic Resistance-A Growing Threat
Abstract
Antibiotic resistance is a serious problem that affects the whole world. It happens because people use too many antibiotics or not the right way. These resistant bacteria can make people sick more easily and spread quickly. New drugs are not coming fast enough, and it takes time and money to develop them. This could lead to infections that can't be treated and more deaths. To stop this, it's important to use antibiotics properly through programs that guide their use and by educating people. Using narrow-spectrum antibiotics helps target only the harmful bacteria, which lowers the chance of resistance. Phage therapy uses viruses to kill bad bacteria. Natural substances from plants, like polyphenols and alkaloids, also have antibacterial effects. Antimicrobial proteins from animals and humans are another hopeful option. Everyone, including doctors, leaders, and regular people, needs to work together. Acting early can help keep antibiotics useful and prevent a big health disaster.
